Released March 28, 2024

In the first episode of Kordz’ new ‘Mastering Connectivity’ podcast series, ‘Why the Integration Industry Has Had Connectivity All Wrong’, connectivity experts unravel common myths surrounding connectivity and offer tips on how to improve the reliability, speed and bandwidth required of today’s sophisticated technologies.

Connectivity has long been one of the most misunderstood, undervalued and frustrating categories of the integration industry – and yet it is evolving rapidly. Emerging technologies and devices are driving unprecedented demand for reliable, high performance and long lasting cabling infrastructure, and as integrators increasingly understand the crucial role of connectivity in powering their systems and running a more profitable integration business, they are recognising the need to elevate their cabling game.

To help integrators get up to speed and stay ahead, the seasoned former integrators and connectivity experts at Kordz have launched a new podcast series, Mastering Connectivity, in collaboration with the AV Trade Talks podcast and host, Katye McGregor Bennett. In the first episode, two of Kordz’ resident connectivity experts, managing director James Chen and technology consultant Hugo Fitzjohn, start at the beginning – identifying where the industry often gets connectivity wrong. They bust five common cabling myths, highlighting the key features integrators should look for in the construction, manufacture and design of professional cabling to deliver better connectivity experiences and work smarter, not harder.

Hot topics Kordz explores at length in the first instalment of the Mastering Connectivity series: (AVAILABLE HERE or on APPLE or SPOTIFY

  • Why thicker cables are no longer necessarily better
  • The dangers of installing sub-par cabling for integrators and their customers
  • The best way to identify quality cable that will do the job right
  • The point at which higher prices no longer indicate cable performance
  • Why cabling is still essential in an increasingly wireless world

Implementing a connectivity infrastructure that performs flawlessly and lasts a lifetime doesn’t have to be confusing, complex or time-consuming. By understanding the new and emerging technologies, choosing the right products, and following best installation practices, integrators can provide their customers with a network supporting all their connectivity needs now and well into the future. They can learn how by tuning into Mastering Connectivity.

For the latest insights and an even deeper dive, integrators can explore the evolution of connectivity and its influence on smart building ecosystems by subscribing to Kordz, reading their free informative articles, and following future Mastering Connectivity podcasts where Kordz will demystify technology, share tips for proper installation, solutions to common pain points and more.
